First Due Fire Averted
Around 1930 hours, BC884 filled the street assignment after a citizen approach him at company 12’s fuel pumps and advised there was smoke in his house. Engine 812 arrived and reported a 2 story middle of the row town house with nothing evident on side alpha and established the tactical command. Engine 812 was told that the source was coming from the laundry room. While members secured the power to a verizon box in the laundry room, other members searched the rest of the house. The true source was discovered on the 2nd floor. The top of a fish tank had caught fire, and as it burned, warped its shape and fell into the tank, extinguishing itself. Company 12 ventilated the structure and returned to service approximately 30 minutes later.
