
Truck and Chiefs Run 34 Two Alarm Apartment Fire
Around 1725 on Wednesday January 13th, 2016 Truck 12 was alerted to the 9200 blk. of New Hampshire Ave. in Co. 34’s area for a report of an apartment fire with people trapped. First arriving units reported fire showing from the top floor of an occupied mid-rise apartment building and requested the fire task force and shortly after filled out a second alarm assignment. Truck 12 arrived and reported to the floor below the fire where they assisted with searches on the floor below and advancing hose lines in the stairwell. Truck 34 and other units on the fireground made several civilian rescues via aerial ladder from the exposure apartment. Truck 12 was held for several hours to assist with extensive overhaul on the fire floor. Chief 12 was the initial division 4 supervisor and Chief 12B had safety. Capt. Johnston (12) running as Battalion Chief 4 also responded on the call and was assigned to Side C.
