
Truck, Chief, and B Chief Run 2nd Alarm Apartment Fire
In the early hours of the morning, Truck 812 was transferred to company 1 (Hyattesville) while they operated on a 1st due apartment fire with people trapped. The 2nd alarm was quickly requested, making Truck 812 the first due special service on the 2nd alarm. Chief’s 12 and 12B also responded. First arriving companies reported fire and smoke showing, along with residents hanging from windows. First arriving companies completed multiple rescues. Truck 812 arrived on scene and deployed the aerial ladder to the roof on side Delta. Truck 812’s vent team went to the roof to assist with ventilation while Truck 812’s search team went to Division 3 to assist opening up. Truck 812 assisted with opening up the fire apartment and other exposure apartments. Chief 812 operated as the Division 3 supervisor and Chief 812B operated on Division 3. Company 12 operated for approximately 1 hour before returning to service.
