College Park Community Foundation Grant
The CPVFD is happy to announce that we have been awarded a grant by the College Park Community Foundation as part of their annual grant program to assist organizations and groups in the City of College Park such as the CPVFD! The grant funds awarded by the College Park Community Foundation focused on improving “quality of life” for our membership will be put toward the purchase of a commercial quality treadmill for our firehouse gym. In the past we have relied heavily on the generous donations of used, residential grade fitness equipment for our members use in the firehouse gym but unfortunately much of this equipment quickly falls into a state of disrepair due to the heavy volume of use it receives in the station. Due to the general physical demands of firefighting, fitness in general, especially cardiovascular health is extremely important to the our members being able to have a long, healthy fire service career. A big thanks goes out the College Park Community Foundation for awarding us this grant to improve the quality of life, health and safety of our members, Captain Wilbur for writing and submitting the grant application and everyone else who made this award possible through your continued support of our organization. Thank You!
