New Jersey USAR Task Force-1 Breaks Bread with Members while Returning from Hurricane Michael
While returning from Florida to assist with emergency relief in the areas affected by Hurricane Michael, NJ USAR TF-1 stopped for dinner in College Park. Members shared a meal in the apparatus bays with about 100 members of the team, who are staying in Greenbelt for the night. They return home in the morning. Company 12 members hosted the team on short notice, and dinner was catered by Potomac Pizza. Task Force members spent the better part of the night sharing stories, knowledge, and memories with the firemen of Company 12.
Task Force one has also been deployed to Hurricane Florence. Many members of the team have only been home for a short period of time before redeploying for Hurricane Michael. The team is comprised of Fire/ EMS, Law Enforcement, Doctors, Engineers, and many other support personnel.
