Fire Alarm Upgraded to Box Alarm in the First Due
On January 21st, Engine 122 was dispatched to 4301 Hartwick Rd for the automatic fire alarm. Upon arriving on scene, an active fire was found in the 3rd floor of a town home down the street from the initial dispatch. E122’s officer immediately requested a box alarm, and a line was laid from the initial hydrant to the fire building. The engine crew stretched a line to the 3rd floor, and extinguished a kitchen fire that was being held in check by a sprinkler. Fire was scaled back to first two engines and two trucks, units operated for approximately one hour.
