CPVFD Mourns the Passing of Past Member Roy Jones
On June 22nd the CPVFD lost a past member, life long supporter of the Department and friend to many, Roy Jones. Roy first moved into the Sackroom in 1963 and even after moving back to his home in Massachusetts, he always remained an avid supporter of the Department and regular visitor any time he was in the area. Anytime Roy would stop by the firehouse he was always eager to talk to the latest generation of College Park members about the history and future of the Department.
As many knew, Roy was the keeper of our 1966 Pirsch (E123) which he kept in its own engine house he had specifically built to house it. While Roy had many successes and accomplishments in the fire service including 29 years as Chief of the Brewster, MA Fire Department, he was always most proud to say he was a College Park Alumni.
Rest easy Chief.
