
Truck 12 responds to house explosion in Adelphi
(ADELPHI, MD) – Today at approximately 0946 hours, Public Safety Communications (PSC) received a 911 call for the report of a house fire in the 2100 block of Rolander St in Company 34’s (Chillum Adelphi) first due. PSC immediately dispatched a box alarm to the location. While en route, PSC provided responding units with supplemental information, which stated that the house was on possibly on fire as a result of an explosion. Units arrived to find a 1 story single family dwelling with a gas-fed fire in the structure. Crews also noted extensive damage to the Bravo side wall. Truck 12 operated on the 1st floor, conducting searches with negative results. Truck 12 operated on the fireground for approximately 2 hours before returning to service. This was the second working fire for Company 12 in the past 24 hours.
