
Truck 12 responds to early morning house fire in Beltsville
(BELTSVILLE, MD) – Early this morning at approximately 0412 hours, Public Safety Communications (PSC) received a 911 call stating that a neighbor’s house was on fire in the 11400 block of Rosedale Ln in Company 31’s (Beltsville) first due. Truck 12 was dispatched as the second due truck, with the responsibility of searching the structure, and responded with 7 personnel. Units arrived on scene to find a 1 story single-family dwelling with fire showing from the rear of the structure and through the roof. Truck 12 made entry into the dwelling and was met with heavy smoke conditions and low visibility. Truck 12 elected to split crews with one crew conducting a search of the 1st floor and the 2nd crew searching the basement. Searches throughout the dwelling were negative. The occupants who were in the house at the time of the fire were able to evacuate themselves safely prior to the arrival of the fire department. Truck 12 operated on the fireground for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
