CONGRATULATIONS SETH STATLER!
Seth Statler currently leads the government affairs team for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the global nonprofit organization devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards. In this role, Statler manages NFPA’s critical relationships with Congress, the executive branch, and major fire service and safety organizations.
From 2009 to 2017, Statler served as NASA’s associate administrator for legislative and intergovernmental affairs, and rebuilt bipartisan congressional support for the nation’s space agency. He led efforts on three supportive authorization bills and many appropriations successes. Statler secured unanimous Senate confirmation of NASA’s deputy administrator and worked closely with NASA corporate partners.
From 1997 to 2009, Statler led congressional affairs for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, securing strong congressional backing for the nation’s largest federal law enforcement agency. He previously managed appropriations issues for Representative Steny Hoyer and authored the legislation that created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). After longtime service as treasurer and a member of the board that honors firefighters killed in the line of duty, Statler now serves as NFFF’s ambassador to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
Statler is a resident of College Park and a member of the College Park Volunteer Fire Department.
